ACC T20 cup,Dubai

Afghanistan won its opening game of the ACC Twenty20 Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village, Sharjah on Sunday by defeating China by nine wickets. China, playing its first international T20 match, put on a brave performance which was evident in its enthusiasm and strong fielding.

Electing to bat first, China batsmen choked under the Afghan pace attack losing crucial early wickets to be 11-4 in the fourth over. Hamid Hassan (4-5) produced an excellent bowling display to pick up quick early wickets and was well-supported by Shahpoor Zadran (2-11), Mohammad Nabi (2-2) and Samiullah Shenwari (2-1). China was dismissed for 36 with seven balls to spare with Song Jangyong (7 in 15 balls) and Ai Di (7 in 21 balls) top-scoring for the team.

In response, Afghanistan lost a quick early wicket with Noor Ali dismissed for nought off Wang Lei's (1-16) bowling. Karim Sadeq (26 in 12 balls) and Shahzad Mohammad (14 runs in 10 balls) then took advantage of the low total to finish the game in just four overs.

In the other game of the day, Kuwait beat Qatar comfortably by 65 runs to register its opening victory.

Put on to bat, Kuwait got a quick opening with openers Hisham Mirza (29 in 14 balls) and Yasser Idris (26 in 14 balls) powering the team to 76 in the sixth over before Rusharat Ali (2-29) dismissed both the openers. The batsmen kept the run-flow consistent with valuable contributions from Khalid Butt (23) and Azmatullah (19). Saad Khalid smashed an unbeaten half century to lift the Kuwaiti total to 195-5 in 20 overs.

Qatar's run-chase suffered an early set back with opener Umar Taj dismissed for nought by Khalid Butt. Sajjad Ahmed (29 in 19 balls), Rusharat Ali (25 in 16 balls) and Habib Zada (24 in 11 balls) pushed up the scores for Qatar but a strict performance from the bowlers kept the run flow in check. The side was dismissed for 130 runs in 17.5 overs with Khalid Butt (2-28) and Sanal Govind (2-16) being the pick of the bowlers for the team.

Qatar will next play Oman at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday while Kuwait will meet Nepal at the same venue. Afghanistan will play Singapore while China will face Saudi Arabia at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Nail Tools

Kupa Inc. makes electric nail files which are very powerful. The speed can be adjusted by a dial from slow to super fast and the direction switched from forward to backward.

They are best used by trained manicure professionals and only on acrylic or gel nails beyond the nail bed. Otherwise cuticles can be nicked or too much filing on the nail bed can damage it. (It's not easy to see how thin a nail is especially when there's acrylic dust flying around.)

Some salons won't even let their technicians use electric files because of the risks. Very good pros don't need to use them because appropriate application of gels, etc., greatly reduces the need for filing. Use of a regular nail file with optimal grit can save a lot of time and produce a perfect finish.

The Latest Classics: New Color For Your Nails

I've always been inclined to experiment with nail color. In high school, I proudly sported the neon yellow, and in college I moved onto gothic black – much to the chagrin of my preppy social circle . But few colors stuck around for long (thank God). Here are a few of the newest classics that have taken the nail world by storm. These polishes are painted on the fingers of fashionable gals season after season, proving that no matter the trend, they are here to stay.

image

Opi's Lincoln Park After Dark seemed like a passing fad at first – one of many uber dark polishes that were sure to fall to the wayside once the dark nail craze died out. But lo and behold, we are still flocking towards this midnight purple years after its debut. I continually have a hard time finding a nail salon that can keep it in stock. This color brings a rocker edge to every hand it adorns without going too far into goth territory. I am also a fan of Chanel's Vamp – which appeared over a decade ago but is still a coveted favorite among many fashion forward celebs. (if they can find it on ebay!)

image

Nude nails have always been a classic, but only recently have they won out over french tips and pinkish hues. The neutral beige of Estee Lauder's Peach Sorbet has risen ahead of the competition, mostly due to the subtle sophistication it exudes.
image
The color red conveys statements of power, allure, and attention-grabbing ferocity. Gone are the days when our red nails were the color of stop signs or cherry tomatoes. The new red is a dark, seductive color with a touch of woody brown, as in this Jungle Red by NARS . It is sexy, mature, and sure to remain a modern beauty staple.

2009 Honda CBR 1000 RR ABS & 2009 Honda CBR 600 RR ABS Photos

2009 Honda CBR600RR ABS

Unofficial photos of Honda's 2009 CBR600RR ABS andCBR1000RR ABS have surfaced via Hell for Leather Magazine, and if their reports are correct both models will be available with ABS. Hell for Leather reports that the 600 features a reworked engine and exhaust system that produces improved torque from 8,000 rpm to 12,000 rpm, a fairing that offers more stability and reduced wind noise, and best-in-class curb weight. The new 600 also wears some wild paint schemes (which we might not see here in the States, since the photos cover the European version.) Check 'em out in our 2009 Honda CBR600RR Photo Gallery.

2009 Honda CBR1000RR ABS

The 2009 CBR1000RR hasn't been changed much since the dramatically reworked 2008 model, and will be available in the ever-popular Repsol repli-racer paint scheme. ABS is differentiated in both models by bronze-colored calipers, which can be seen in our 2009 Honda CBR1000RR Photo Gallery.

If you recall our report on Honda's Combined ABS system, the optional anti-lock brakes should be mass centralized, smooth operating, and calibrated for sport riding. Whether or not the ABS system is desirable for high performance riding remains to be seen, but considering the radical evolution of the technology over the past few years the package looks promising, though curb weight fanatics should note that it comes at a 22 lb. premium.

Fall/Winter 2008/2009 Trends – New York Fashion Week

The New York Fashion Week 2008 has already surprised us with several interesting and unusual apparel decisions. I hope we never go back to last years trends! Instead of providing coverage of designer collections and trademarks, I’ve decided to focus on TRENDS. So here are the 5 main trends of the New York Fashion Week 2008:

  • Sequins and gloss

While no the hottest trend, it is still on the top of our popularity list. Just shine and everything will be more than fine! But make sure it’s within reason.

The 10 Timeless Ones

Necklines РPortrait, V or the broad rounded neckline never go out of style as they are the very basic necklines which embelished. If well-fitted about the shoulders they accentuate the feminine neck and d̩collet̩.
neclines

Monochromes – Always work because colours are always in, with mix of textures and plains they look very chic. It doesn’t have to be black – pick your colour! Though dark colours have a slimming effect on the silhouette, than light ones. Monchrome should be worn from neckdown, for a streamlining effect.

Simple Elegant Lines – are very flattering to any type of figure as it skims the figure giving a continuous unbroken outline, hiding the unwanted. Off the shoulder tunic dresses are always elegant.

CBR250RR MC22

Model history

The chronology of the models is as follows:

YearsModelDescription
1986CBR250FG and CBR250FG-YA (MC14).Twin front disks, single front headlight, bikini fairings.
1987CBR250R(H) (MC17).Twin front disks, still single head light, full fairings.
1988CBR250R(J) (MC19).Single larger front disk, smaller chain, twin head lights, fuel pump.
1989CBR250R(K) (MC19).Essentially identical to the R(J), except now had a speed limiter which was set at 185 km/h.
1990-1991CBR250RR(L) (MC22).A completely new redesigned bike that features a new cast/pressed aluminium frame that gives a more aggressive riding position, gull shaped swing arm that was adopted from theNSR250, higher rising tail, six spoke cast aluminium wheels and dual front Ø276 mm floating disk brakes. These changes resulted in a dry weight of 142 kg.

The only feature that was adopted from the previous model CBR250s was the original MC14E engine. This too was slightly modified with a crankshaft that featured Ø27.5 mm small-end journals, up Ø0.5 mm from the previous Ø27 mm journals. The engine also uses a completely new set of VP carburetors that feature smaller throats reduced from Ø32 mm to Ø30.5 mm. These carburetors are now fed by a vacuum operated pump for fuel delivery.

1992-1993CBR250RR(N) (MC22).Essentially the same as the RR(L) except for new paint jobs.
1994-1996CBR250RR(R) (MC22).Still very similar to the RR(L/N) but now restricted to producing 40 ps (30 kW) due to changes in Japanese law. The restrictions are in the cylinder head, head gasket and ignition unit, and all need to be replaced if 45 ps (34 kW) is desired. Redline reduced to 18,500rpm.
1997-1999CBR250RR(RII) (MC22).These are identical to the RR(R), and are leftover bikes that were built in the 1994 to 1996 era, but sold in 1997 and 1998.

[edit]Bike Details

These bikes were only ever sold new in Japan, and later the CBR250RR was sold new in Australia. They however can be found in almost any country of the world, and in a number is the most powerful 4-stroke bike a learner is allowed to ride, and hence their popularity. The CBR250RR has six gears, and revs just under 9,000 rpm at 100 km/h. Despite the high revs, the bike requires little maintenance, and should easily last 100,000 km with regular oil changes (over 1/2 a billion revolutions). The engine is somewhat unusual in that it uses gear driven cams, further reducing maintenance requirements.

The models most commonly grey-imported into Australia were the MC22 and MC19 models. The earlier MC14 and MC17 are quite rare. During the mid 90's there was a collapse in the Japanese 250cc bike market due to a sudden change in licensing regulations allowing riders on the previous 250cc license class to ride bigger bikes. The excess new bikes (MC22 CBR250RR (R) and (R-II) models) were shipped to Australia by Honda MPE where they were sold as part of the company's official lineup. [1] This has proven quite useful to owners of grey-market imported CBR250RR's seeking spare parts.

The CBR250RR(R) is frequently known as the 'tri-colour' due to the fact that most (but not all) of the official bikes came in that particular colour scheme. Other than the engine restrictions, this model had several additional differences to its predecessors (L & N models). The bike featured more powerful low-beam headlights coupled to a new relay which was automatically deactivated by the start/crank button on the handlebar. This changed the pinout of the switchgear and kill-switch. The carburettor rubber boots were smaller on the CBR250RR(R) than the imports.
